Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: May 18, 2026
1. Overview
This policy governs refunds and cancellations for tuition, examination fees, and credentialing services offered by the National Institute for Responsible AI Practice, Corp. (“NIRAP,” “we,” “our”). By completing enrollment, candidates acknowledge and accept the terms set forth below. This policy is consistent with the standards observed by recognized professional credentialing bodies and exists to protect both candidates and the integrity of the NIRAP credentialing process.
2. Tuition Satisfaction Window
NIRAP provides a seven (7) calendar day satisfaction window for course tuition, beginning on the date of enrollment. To qualify for a full refund of tuition paid, all of the following conditions must be met:
- The written request is received within seven (7) calendar days of the original purchase.
- The candidate has completed less than twenty percent (20%) of the assigned course content.
- The candidate has not attempted the certification examination.
- The candidate has not downloaded any credentialing materials, branded assets, or digital badges.
Requests received outside this window, or that exceed any of these usage thresholds, will not be honored.
3. Examination Fees
Examination fees are non-refundable once the examination has been scheduled or attempted. This standard is consistent with the practices of established professional credentialing bodies and protects the integrity of the assessment process.
A candidate may request a one-time examination reschedule, in writing, no later than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the scheduled examination time. Reschedule requests received within seventy-two (72) hours of the scheduled examination, or after a missed examination, may be subject to a reinstatement fee.
4. Founding Cohort Tuition
Tuition paid under the NIRAP Founding Cohort offer reflects a substantial reduction from standard tuition and represents limited-availability enrollment. Founding Cohort tuition is subject to the seven (7) day satisfaction window described in Section 2 and is otherwise non-refundable and non-transferable. Founding Cohort seats cannot be reassigned, gifted, or resold.
5. Credential Issuance
Once a NIRAP credential, including the NIRAP Certified Professional™ or NIRAP Certified Practice™ designation, has been issued, all associated tuition and examination fees become non-refundable. An issued credential may only be withdrawn or revoked under the terms of the NIRAP Code of Conduct and may not be relinquished in exchange for a refund.
6. Firm and Group Enrollments
NIRAP Certified Practice™ enrollments and other firm or group purchases are subject to a thirty (30) day cancellation window from the date of the master invoice, provided no participating individual has accessed course content or attempted an examination. After thirty (30) days, or upon any participant’s access, firm and group enrollments are non-refundable. Unused seats may be reassigned within the same firm at NIRAP’s discretion.
7. How to Request a Refund
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to support@nirap.org and must include:
- The candidate’s full legal name and enrollment email address.
- The original date of purchase and transaction confirmation number.
- A brief description of the reason for the request.
Approved refunds will be processed to the original method of payment within ten (10) business days of approval. NIRAP is not responsible for delays caused by the candidate’s financial institution.
8. Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees are non-refundable under all circumstances:
- Examination retake and re-sit fees.
- Credential renewal and continuing education fees.
- Administrative, processing, and verification fees.
- Official transcript, replacement certificate, and badge reissue fees.
- Any fees designated as non-refundable at the point of purchase.
9. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Candidates are required to contact NIRAP at support@nirap.org to resolve any concerns before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with a financial institution. Initiating a chargeback prior to contacting NIRAP will result in immediate suspension of access to all NIRAP courses, examinations, and credentials and may disqualify the individual or firm from future enrollment in NIRAP programs.
10. Promotional, Bundled, and Complimentary Enrollments
Enrollments granted on a complimentary basis, through partnership programs, or as part of a bundled promotional offer hold no cash value and are non-refundable. Discounted or promotional enrollments are subject to the standard terms of this policy unless explicitly stated otherwise in the offer.
11. Exceptional Circumstances
NIRAP may, at its sole discretion, grant exceptions to this policy in cases of documented medical emergency, military deployment, or other circumstances beyond the candidate’s reasonable control. Requests for exceptional consideration must be submitted in writing to support@nirap.org with supporting documentation.
12. Modifications to This Policy
NIRAP reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled candidates and will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. The policy in effect at the time of purchase will govern that transaction.
13. Governing Law and Venue
This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this policy shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas.
